De tr\u00e6ner meget. Ofte 2 gange om dagen, 2-6 timer totalt. Sv\u00f8mmere begynder deres tr\u00e6ning i en meget tidligt alder, ofte ned til 8-12 \u00e5rs alderen. De foretager ca. 1,5 million arm rotationer pr. arm om \u00e5ret. Men overraskende nok, har det ikke en s\u00e6rlig stor pr\u00e6valens for overbelastningsskader. Men hvad der er vigtigt, er at de ofte tr\u00e6ner trods de har smerte eller ubehag, og det kan \u00f8ge risikoen for udvikling af skader.<\/p>\n<p>I andre sportsgrene s\u00e5som l\u00f8b, er det anbefalet at man kun stiger\u00a0med 10% om ugen (10%-reglen) i fx distance og interval (og helst kun \u00e6ndre p\u00e5 en tr\u00e6ningsting om ugen).<\/p>\n<p>Derfor kan det det v\u00e6re\u00a0vigtigt at f\u00e5 en grundig id\u00e9 omkring sv\u00f8mmerens seneste tr\u00e6ningshistorie i form af intensitet, varighed og type tr\u00e6ning, hvad sv\u00f8mmeren lavet, herunder \u00f8velser ved t\u00f8r tr\u00e6ning (tr\u00e6ningen uden for vand). Folk der l\u00f8ber tager ikke h\u00f8jde for denne modstand, da man ofte l\u00f8ber\u00a0for langsomt til at skulle\u00a0overveje dette, mens cyklister kan have v\u00e6sentlig\u00a0forbedringer ved at forbedre deres aerodynamik.<\/p>\n<p>Vand er n\u00e6sten 800 gange t\u00e6ttere end luft og tr\u00e6kkr\u00e6fter er ekstremt vigtig for alle\u00a0sv\u00f8mmehastigheder.
