When can I drive again after ACL reconstruction? 🚗🦵
This is a question I often get from patients after ACL surgery.
We actually addressed this in the Aspetar Clinical Practice Guideline on Rehabilitation after ACLR, which I was fortunate to be a co-author on.
Our recommendation is that you should not attempt to drive until you can safely activate the brake in a simulated emergency situation.
As a general guide:
🚗 Right-sided ACLR: approximately 4–6 weeks
🚗 Left-sided ACLR: approximately 2–3 weeks

Det er et spørgsmål, jeg ofte får fra patienter efter en korsbåndsoperation.
Det har vi faktisk taget stilling til i Aspetar Clinical Practice Guideline on Rehabilitation after ACLR, som jeg var så heldig at være medforfatter på.
Vores anbefaling er, at du ikke bør forsøge at køre bil igen, før du sikkert og hurtigt kan aktivere bremsen i en simuleret nødbremsesituation.
Som en generel vejledning:
🚗 Højresidig korsbåndsoperation: cirka 4–6 uger
🚗 Venstresidig korsbåndsoperation: cirka 2–3 uger
