ACL workshop at Centro Momentum, Santiago de Compostela

A big thank you to Centro Momentum, Adri Gonzáles and Alvaro Quintana Broche for being such amazing hosts for our ACL workshop in Santiago de Compostela. What a clinic and what a team!
It was a pleasure to share knowledge and experiences on ACL rehab with Pedro Castellon Sanchez and I @andreas.bjerregaard 🙏

The workshop was based on clinical experience from hundreds of ACL cases at Aspetar, combined with research, online rehab, and club consultations. We outlined a possible patient journey – from pre-op to return to sport.

Each step highlighted key clinical elements:
➡️ Intro to criteria-based rehab: questionnaires & psychological readiness
➡️ Aspetar Guideline: EMG, NMES, BFR, OKC, cross-education, more
➡️ Clinical Assessment: manual testing + AMI deep dive
➡️ Motor Control: quality across the kinetic chain (foot to hip), using squat analysis, force plates & VALD Human Trak
➡️ Strength: VBT, “strong enough” benchmarks, and exercise selection
➡️ Explosiveness & Reactive Strength: CMJ/Drop Jump analysis and improving deficits
➡️ Return to Running & Change of Direction: progression using AlterG, treadmill, speed gates + practical drills
➡️ On-field training: 5 stages from high control to high chaos, ending with case discussions

We focused on making it all clinically relevant and applicable.
Big thanks to the colleagues who spent their weekend geeking out with us. And to Myoact Danmark to provide EMG adding a great layer to ACL rehab!
